學術簡報技巧(上)

不管是第一次作簡報還是第20次,或是在研究組內進度會報還是大型研討會發表成果,只要是需要上台報告,都會令人緊張得發抖冒汗,甚至腦筋一片空白。

其實會緊張是很正常的,而且不一定全是負面效果;適度的壓力能給報告人簡報時所需要的精神能量,更重要的是,若能化緊張為動力,在事前作充分地準備,就不用擔心搞砸丟臉,也就沒有過度緊張的必要啦!

我們這系列將分節討論作簡報的事前功夫,以及作學術報告的技巧。針對事前準備工作,我們有以下建議:

充分準備

你理當是報告現場最了解簡報題材的人,你花了最多的時間思考整理故事的來龍去脈;但是,千萬不要忘記你的故事是說給台下聽眾聽的,聽眾可能是領域專家,也可能是完全不清楚背景的「門外漢」,所以才準備題材時,必須不斷提醒自己從聽眾的角度思考,以調整自己的表達方式和想傳達內容。

依照簡報的目的、聽眾背景、時間限制等等因素,有幾個問題需要考量:

• 你的聽眾是同領域的研究員?還是其他相關領域?是只有幾位專家級的聽眾?還是系裡所有老師學生都可以來聽?

• 為什麼聽眾會對你的報告感興趣?什麼樣的主題會吸引你的聽眾?應該偏重哪方面的內容,好讓聽眾有「心有靈犀」的感覺?

• 有多少報告時間?有哪些重點一定要提?有哪些內容可以放到最後再做補充,或當備用投影片?通常學術簡報大約一分鐘一張投影片,所以例如有40分鐘的報告時間,就要準備大概40章投影片。

• 有什麼有趣生動、又與研究內容相關的小故事可以提?好的小故事不但能讓加深聽眾對報告內容的印象,也可順便喚醒在偷睡覺的聽眾!

• 用淺顯易懂的圖片代替枯澀冗長的文句,或加入聲音、影片等多媒體檔案,讓報告內容更加生動。

練習、練習、再練習!

簡報內容是一回事,演說技巧又是另一回事。找一兩位較有經驗的學長姐,先練習說給他們聽,並虛心接受批評指教,再重複修改簡報內容和表達方式,注意時間控制等等,通常要練習大約2到3次,才能練到最佳狀態。
